BOBBY STEWART: "Copyright on Love" b/w "Interception" & "Copyright (Remix)"-S.O.S. SOS-1445. This catchy dance tune with cute lyrics is highlighted by synthesizer somewhere between a marimba and a toy piano, and Stewart's swell pipes: he sounds like Marc Almond played straight-no histrionics, and hitting all the notes. "Interception" is a pretty fair B-side; "Copyright'' 's dub version is satisfactory but coulda been more adventurous. A first-rate white dance record that doesn't shove a pose up your nose-what'll they think of next?

BOBBY STEWART-Copyright On Love (5:40); producer: Joe Ferry; writers: B. Stewart, T. Powell; publisher: Plan B, ASCAP; SOS SOS1445EP. This 12-inch single introduces a new writer/artist and a New York based label. The song is a tidy rock-dance tune featuring tricky percussion and a first-rate melodic hook.

Bobby Stewart, who demonstrated a propensity for originality with "Copyright on Love," has returned with"Bottom of the Drum" on SOS Records. Percussion is emphasized, but not enough to obscure the vocal and writing ability of Stewart.

Finally a compilation of songs from one of the finest singer/songwriter/producers NYC has given us. This is alternative music with a twist. There are lots of interesting touches with my favorite styles of music, it's intelligent pop with a beat. Check this out now - I'm sure you are bound to agree.
